PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bo Whittle (ranked 6965 p4p, 6169 weight class) and Vladamir Olegovich (ranked 753 p4p, 694 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bo Whittle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladamir Olegovich!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Whittle rushes Olegovich and presses him up against the ropes.
A right handed body shot lands from Whittle.
Whittle gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Olegovich.
Whittle blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Whittle working hard to break the clinch.
Whittle keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Olegovich's efforts to push away.
Whittle creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Olegovich looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Whittle has picked Olegovich up and slammed him! Olegovich can't keep hold of the triangle and Whittle manages to pass to side control!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Whittle is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Olegovich is defending well though. Whittle let's go of the attempt for now.

Olegovich postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Whittle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Olegovich, into his guard.

Whittle seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Olegovich wants to control but Whittle is keeping busy.
Olegovich is staying active underneath Whittle, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Whittle takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
