Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimi Korpela (ranked 3359 p4p, 3667 weight class) and Vladmir Rasputin (ranked 454 p4p, 484 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rasputin's choice of entrance music: Rasputin Funk Overload. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vladmir Rasputin!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korpela moves away from the strike by Rasputin.
Rasputin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Korpela.
Rasputin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Korpela circles away quickly and effectively.
Rasputin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Korpela looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Rasputin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rasputin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Korpela staying out of range there.

Rasputin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Korpela's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Rasputin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Korpela keeping moving, preventing Rasputin from controlling successfully.
Korpela knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rasputin on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rasputin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rasputin wants to pass the guard but Korpela is defending well.
Rasputin works his foot free and advances to mount.
Rasputin unloads with some shots from mount but Korpela bucks and avoids them well.

Rasputin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Korpela can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Rasputin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rasputin looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Korpela covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
