Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dr Barney (ranked 4674 p4p, 4716 weight class) and Joe River (ranked 101 p4p, 98 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
River looks for a takedown but Barney sprawls well.
Barney half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
River shoots in for a double leg but Barney sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

River closes the distance and clinches up with Barney, looking for a takedown. River pushes Barney against the cage but Barney circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Dr Barney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe River.

River changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Barney dives in for a single leg takedown but River sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
River tries to pull guard but Barney holds him up against the cage and eventually River drops back down to his feet.

Barney ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Barney no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Barney is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst River is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
