Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Dennison (ranked 24308 p4p, 23145 weight class) and Isadore James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James has chosen Gangsta's Paradise - Coolio as his entrance music. Isadore James has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dick Dennison's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dick Dennison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Isadore James!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James misses with a leg kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Dennison, which made it look bad.
Dennison is looking to counter punch.
Dennison takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
James shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dennison but Dennison pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Dennison shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. James manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dennison stays in close to James's body and controls the position.
Dennison keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of James's head.
Dennison cracks James with a solid left hand.
Dennison has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dennison seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down James for as long as he can get away with.

Dennison is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Dennison is working James over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Dennison is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Dennison has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We've been hearing good reports from Dennison's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dennison working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Dennison looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks James with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dennison in particular looking to stall.

James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dennison. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dennison.
James seems to have recovered his senses.
James uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dennison.

Dennison drives through with a takedown into James's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dennison uses his free foot to push down on James's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for James.

The referee warns James that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Dennison takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Dennison loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have James scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Dennison land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Dennison stands and salutes the crowd.
