Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joao Silvera (ranked 1054 p4p, 871 weight class) and Magnus Pyke (ranked 143 p4p, 117 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joao Silvera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Magnus Pyke!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silvera throws a body shot but no joy.
Pyke fails with a takedown attempt.

Pyke shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Silvera is trying to defend but Pyke finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Pyke is just content to waste time from the top position. Silvera takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pyke trying to control the position from guard on top but Silvera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Silvera is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Pyke closes the distance and clinches up with Silvera, looking for a takedown. Pyke pushes Silvera against the cage but Silvera circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Silvera throws a jab when Pyke was well out of range.
Pyke slips a jab from Silvera.
Nice sprawl there from Silvera as Pyke shoots in.

Silvera wants to get back to his feet but Pyke is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Silvera jabs Pyke right on the nose. Pyke blinks but takes it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silvera is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Pyke stalling away here and it's allowed Silvera to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Pyke seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Silvera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silvera bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pyke's guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Pyke slips under a jab.
Pyke shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silvera sprawls well. Silvera wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pyke gets slowly back to his feet.
Silvera is looking to counter with head kicks.
Silvera dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pyke avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Silvera is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Magnus Pyke has been cut.
Pyke tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silvera swivels and escapes.

Joao Silvera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Magnus Pyke.
Pyke blocks a jab.

Pyke is breathing heavily.
A slow jab from Silvera misses its intended target.
Silvera throws a head kick but Pyke moves out of range.
Nice body kick there by Silvera.
Pyke shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silvera pinned against the cage. Silvera gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Silvera lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pyke at a distance.
Pyke misses with a takedown
and Silvera counters with a nice uppercut.
Pyke shoots in for a takedown but Silvera shows good takedown defense.
Silvera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silvera thuds his right hand into Pyke's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Pyke is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silvera fakes the body blow, causing Pyke to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Pyke goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joao Silvera!
Joao Silvera tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
