The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Petrov throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Petrov throws a shot from downtown. Lachance moves away and avoids it.
A punch combination from Petrov misses.
Lachance was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Petrov lands a head shot.
Lachance looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Lachance tries to throw a body punch but Petrov avoids it by throwing Lachance back against the cage.

Petrov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lachance throws out the jab.

and Petrov counters with a two punch combo.
Good exchange - Lachance coming out on top.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lachance moves into range and clinches up with Petrov.
Lachance scores with a nice hook to the head.
Lachance keeps control of Petrov as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Petrov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lachance looks to throw the jab but Petrov is out of range.
Despite the aggression on Petrov's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Lachance closes the distance but Petrov moves to the side
and Petrov counters with a nice uppercut.

Lachance lands with a nice body punch.
Petrov misses with a straight left.
Petrov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

It looks like Lucien Lachance has been cut.

and Petrov counters with a right hand to the body.
Lachance misses with a hook.
Lachance tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Lachance tries to close the distance and clinch up but Petrov swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Petrov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Petrov sends Lachance crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Petrov is motioning to the referee to let Lachance up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Lucien Lachance seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Petrov.
Lachance wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Lachance blocks a head kick by Petrov.
Lachance lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Petrov circles away quickly and effectively.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vasil Petrov will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Lachance's jab looks to have found its range, popping Petrov under the eye.

Lachance fails with an attempt to clinch.

Oooooh!!! Petrov has knocked Lachance down with a huge combo! Petrov steps away and waves a wobbly Lachance back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Oh Lachance is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lachance fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Petrov.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Some bone on bone action there as Petrov checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

and Petrov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Lachance is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Lachance tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Petrov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Petrov looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Petrov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lachance scores with a crisp jab that stopped Petrov in his tracks.

That has opened up Vasil Petrov's cut even more.
Lachance shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Petrov takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Lachance sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Petrov bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
