Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leon Smalls (ranked 3725 p4p, 4385 weight class) and Issac Field (ranked 337 p4p, 381 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smalls drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Smalls trying to control the position from guard on top but Field is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Smalls drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smalls jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Smalls working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Smalls has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Smalls trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Field wants to stand and escape but Smalls is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smalls pushes down on Field's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Field is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Smalls scores with a couple of nice shots.
Field really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smalls. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Field is refusing to be controlled, as Smalls sits in half guard.

Smalls uses his free foot to push down on Field's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Field.
Smalls is landing with some decent strikes but Field is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Smalls sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Smalls looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Field wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Smalls.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Smalls is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Field can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Field defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Smalls.
Smalls throws some wild stikes that Field manages to avoid easily.

Field tries to buck Smalls off but he can't manage it.

Field is squirming around, avoiding Smalls's attempts to control the action.
Smalls wants to take his opponent's back but Field doesn't allow it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Field misses with a low kick.
Field lands a slapping body shot.
Smalls ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Field pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Field throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
An inside leg kick from Field misses.
Field thuds his right hand into Smalls's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Smalls clinches up with Field and pushes him back against the cage.
Smalls is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Smalls doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Smalls turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Field is pushing Smalls's head away, looking to escape. Smalls manages to hold on to the position though.
Smalls wants to control but Field is keeping him busy.

Smalls has hold of Field's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Field tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Smalls cranks the arm and Field screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Field, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
