Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mateus Gracie (ranked 1035 p4p, 2267 weight class) and Dingleberry Jones (ranked 113 p4p, 235 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jones's choice of entrance music: Hell Yeah. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jones goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jones.
Jones scores with a jab to the head.
We've been told by Gracie's head coaches at 3Band MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

so Gracie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Gracie is stalling in the full guard.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
