Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dominick Poirier (ranked 2827 p4p, 4486 weight class) and Mark Taylor (ranked 275 p4p, 396 weight class). Taylor has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor fails with the takedown.
Poirier half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Poirier looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Poirier looks to land a left hand but Taylor moved out of range nicely.

Taylor moves into the clinch.

Poirier manages to break the clinch.
Poirier fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Taylor manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Poirier on his heels. He'll look to pass Poirier's guard now, I'm sure.

Poirier looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Taylor avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Poirier.
Taylor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Poirier is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Poirier perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Taylor scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Poirier manages to mount him!
Taylor is just holding on here. Poirier manages to take his back.

Poirier is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Taylor won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Poirier off his unconscious opponent!
