The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vargas misses with a straight right.
Hawkins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vargas tries to avoid it but Hawkins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vargas to the ground. Vargas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hawkins takes one to the side of the head.
A punch lands to the side of Hawkins 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Vargas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hawkins moves away.
Vargas throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hawkins takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Vargas tests Hawkins's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Vargas lands a slapping body shot.
Hawkins is breathing heavily.

Vargas lands a big uppercut and Hawkins crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Hawkins looks OK. Vargas waves Hawkins back to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hawkins circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Vargas. Hawkins falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Vargas!
