PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marton Csemy (ranked 1156 p4p, 1758 weight class) and Davdio Branko (ranked 72 p4p, 97 weight class). Csemy comes to the cage accompanied by Iron Maiden: Fear of the dark. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marton Csemy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Davdio Branko!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Branko dives in for a single leg takedown but Csemy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Csemy misses the shot to the body.
Csemy takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Branko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Csemy's waist but Csemy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Branko off to one side.

Marton Csemy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Davdio Branko.
Csemy throws a low kick, looking for Branko's leg but Branko calmly moves out of range.
Csemy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Brankos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

It looks like Davdio Branko has been cut.

Branko goes for a double leg but Csemy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Csemy continues to drive forward.
A little feinted left hand from Csemy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Csemy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Branko.
Csemy looks to score with a jab to the body but Branko is just out of range.

Csemy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Csemy wants it to stay on the feet.
Branko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Branko uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Csemy.
Branko shoots in looking for a takedown but Csemy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Branko's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Csemy swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Branko throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Csemy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Branko is in Csemy's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Branko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Csemy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Csemy is looking to stand up but Branko isn't so interested in that idea.

Branko pushes down on Csemy's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Branko is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Csemy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Branko.
Csemy is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Hell Warriors Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Branko has gone for a leg lock! Csemy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Branko's guard.

Branko is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Csemy is aware though and is defending well.

Branko lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Branko sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Csemy's guard.

Branko decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Csemy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Branko can do to turn this around?
