Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eugene Lawrence !
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, The Eagle!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lawrence feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lawrence has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Eagle throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Eagle looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Lawrence has picked Eagle up and slammed him! Eagle can't keep hold of the triangle and Lawrence manages to pass to side control!
Eagle is looking for a sweep.
Eagle is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lawrence is controlling him well.

Lawrence is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Eagle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The referee asks Lawrence politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Lawrence prefers to stall for the moment though.

Lawrence tries for a kimura but Eagle is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eagle is looking for a sweep.

Lawrence working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Eagle can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lawrence is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Eagle is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Eagle tries to strike from the bottom but misses.

Lawrence is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Eagle is trying to escape and Lawrence transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Eagle is forced to tap! Nice work there by Lawrence ! Very nice indeed!
