The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez works the jab nicely.

Cortez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cortez crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Komakech - the referee stops the clock and Cortez gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Komakech. Cortez manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Komakech lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Komakech fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cortez manages to avoid it.
Cortez throws a looping overhand right but Komakech ducks down to avoid it.

Cortez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Komakech really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cortez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cortez fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Komakech out cold! Brutal finish!
