PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Sepulveda (ranked 2623 p4p, 2053 weight class) and Oenomaus Doctore (ranked 78 p4p, 59 weight class). Sepulveda comes to the cage accompanied by Lady Gaga - Alejandro. Doctore comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Metallica - kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 29 - 2, fighting out of New York, Alejandro Sepulveda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oenomaus Doctore!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doctore cracks a nice hook into Sepulveda's ribs.
Sepulveda has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Sepulveda bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Doctore is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sepulveda is controlling him well.

Sepulveda tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sepulveda has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Doctore sneaks out the side door and pushes Sepulveda away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Doctore stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Doctore wants it to stay on the feet.
Sepulveda takes a swing at Doctore's ribcage but misses.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sepulveda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doctore tries to avoid it but Sepulveda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doctore to the ground. Doctore escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sepulveda throws a looping overhand right but Doctore ducks down to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sepulveda. Doctore does a little dance to reset his feet.

Horrible takedown attempt by Sepulveda or perhaps it was just good defense by Doctore, which made it look bad.

Sepulveda throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Sepulveda shoots in and bounces Doctore off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Doctore has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sepulveda off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Sepulveda doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Doctore swings for the body but Sepulveda moves out of range.

Sepulveda throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Doctore tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sepulveda is in Doctore's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sepulveda wants to control from the top but Doctore keeps moving.
Doctore is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sepulveda is controlling him.

Doctore pushes Sepulveda off and scrambles back to his feet.

Doctore tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sepulveda defends well and Doctore ends up having to push Sepulveda into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Doctore has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Doctore there as he acknowledges the shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sepulveda ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sepulveda throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sepulveda changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Sepulveda fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Doctore to the ground. Sepulveda is now in Doctore's guard.
Doctore wants to stand and escape but Sepulveda is having none of it.

Doctore wants to stand up but Sepulveda is controlling him.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alejandro Sepulveda will probably get the nod.

A nice side step and Doctore releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Oenomaus Doctore is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sepulveda is rocked!
Doctore throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Sepulveda crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
