PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demo Kable (ranked 4698 p4p, 2841 weight class) and Charlie IV (ranked 495 p4p, 322 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Demo Kable!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charlie IV!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Kable does it's job there.
Kable defending well as IV loads up on a big left hand.
Kable swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Kable moves away from the strike by IV.
IV walks into a left hand.

It looks like Charlie IV has been cut.
IV swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A quick step to the side and Kable tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Kable counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A looping hook to the body misses from IV. Kable does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kable throws a jab but it's blocked by IV.
IV throws a jab but it's blocked by Kable.
IV looks to throw the jab but Kable is out of range.
Kable ducks down and throws a hook to the body but IV moves away.
Kable seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Kable ducks under a wild hook from IV.
IV throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kable slips a jab from IV.
Kable slips a straight right by IV.
IV misses with a lunging right hand
and Kable counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
IV misses with a hook. Kable ducked under it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kable connects with a body shot that sends IV's belly button to the back.
Kable swings widly with a right hand
and IV cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kable lands a lovely overhand right.
IV throws a jab but it's blocked by Kable.

Kable feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends IV sprawling to the canvas! IV rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kable finish him?!

IV is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kable lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens IV up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Kable from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw IV's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Demo Kable!
A very excited looking Demo Kable made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
