Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Brook (ranked 3982 p4p, 25286 weight class) and Tim Jay (ranked 396 p4p, 663 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Brook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tim Jay!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jay looks to land a right hand but Brook moved out of range.
Jay ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jay takes a swing at Brook's ribcage but misses.
Brook moves in looking to clinch but Jay pushes him off.

Brook drives through and clinches with Jay against the cage.
Brook is looking for a takedown.

Jay pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jay closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jay trying to control the pace.
Jay is looking to advance position but Brook won't allow it.
Jay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brook. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brook wants to sweep but Jay has passed to side control!

Brook can't do much from the bottom here.
Brook manages to get back to half guard.
Jay lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Jay passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Brook!

Brook is bucking up trying to escape but Jay cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Jay swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Brook is now in Jay's guard. A big mistake from Jay there, giving up the dominant position!

Brook avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brook drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jay dives on top into guard.

Jay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brook swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brook is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jay throws an elbow that misses. Brook uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jay's guard. Nice move by Brook!

Jay is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brook is controlling him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brook drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jay looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jay looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jay!

That's time! Brook's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Brook shoots in for a takedown but Jay shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Brook misses the shot to the body.
Brook swings for the body but Jay moves out of range.
Jay with the counter takedown but Brook avoids it easily.
Brook shoots in but no luck this time.
Brook scores with a punch to the head.

Jay is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brook sees it coming and defends easily.

Brook is looking for a sweep. Jay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jay shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brook manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Brook escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jay gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jay stands up from Brook's guard - Jay perhaps looking for a knockout.
Brook tries to clinch but Jay is having none of it.
Brook takes a swing at Jay's ribcage but misses.
Jay keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jay with the counter takedown but Brook avoids it easily.
Brook circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brook jabs Jay to the body, keeping him at a distance.

No luck for Jay with that takedown attempt.
Jay is breathing heavily.
Brook looks to score with a jab to the body but Jay is just out of range.

Jay clinches up with Brook and pushes him back against the cage.

Jay works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brook is on top in guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Brook is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Jay is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Brook is aware though and is defending well.

Brook wants to control from the top but Jay keeps moving.

That was a close second round but I would say that Danny Brook will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Well, if Jay is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Jay throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Brook wants to improve his position but Jay is controlling well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jay has closed the distance and engaged Brook in a clinch.
Jay is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Jay avoiding damage.
Jay tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brook smiles and moves away.
Danny Brook is winning the standup battle so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Brook tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jay was well out of range. Poor timing from Brook.
Jay pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brook misses with a jab, cross combination.
Brook scores with a nice strike.
Brook fails in his attempt to clinch.
A nice side step and Jay releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Jay fails with a takedown attempt.
Brook appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Brook just misses with a punch to the body.
Brook tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jay defends well and Brook ends up having to push Jay into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Brook has Jay pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jay manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Brook. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brook tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jay avoids it.
I was talking to Brook's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Jay is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Brook pulls him back up using the underhooks.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Danny Brook.
I think Brook has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
