PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gatis Krutainis (ranked 5140 p4p, 5683 weight class) and Tank Hankerson (ranked 169 p4p, 177 weight class). The key to victory for Gatis Krutainis has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gatis Krutainis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tank Hankerson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krutainis misses with a takedown attempt - Hankerson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Krutainis gets tackled into the cage by Hankerson. Hankerson maintains the clinch.

Hankerson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hankerson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hankerson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hankerson shoots in looking for a takedown. Krutainis tries to sprawl out of it but Hankerson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Krutainis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Krutainis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hankerson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Krutainis somewhat.

That was a close round but I would say that Gatis Krutainis will probably get the nod.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gatis Krutainis.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Krutainis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
