PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manny Pacman (ranked 4778 p4p, 4817 weight class) and Landon Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Le throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pacman takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Manny Pacman has been cut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Le tries to pull guard but Pacman holds him up against the cage and eventually Le drops back down to his feet.
Le is trying to pull guard but Pacman has him pressed against the cage.

Le pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Le closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pacman circles away.
Manny Pacman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Landon Le.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Le tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pacman swivels and escapes.
Le shoots for a takedown but Pacman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Le fails with a takedown attempt.

Pacman gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Le is looking to control Pacman's arms but Pacman gets an underhook and turns him. Now Le has his back to the cage.
Pacman is pressed up against the cage. Le has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pacman down to the mat. Pacman avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Le looks winded!

Pacman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Le manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Le is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Pacman dives into side control.

Pacman slows the pace down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pacman landing strikes.
Pacman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Le keeps working.

Pacman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Le sneaks out the side door and pushes Pacman away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Pacman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Pacman is working for a submission of some sort.

Pacman seems to be working for a kimura but Le defends the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Le looking for submissions off his back.
Pacman is trying to control. Le wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pacman is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Le tries to get to full guard but Pacman has control of the leg.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Le fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pacman manages to avoid it.
Pacman appears to be looking for a big counter.
Le throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pacman.
Le fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pacman is looking for a counter combo.
Le slaps away a takedown attempt from Pacman, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Le fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pacman avoids it really well and circles away.
Le fails to land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Le swats away the attempt to clinch by Pacman.
Pacman is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Le is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pacman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Le is breathing heavily.
Le fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Manny Pacman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Landon Le.
Le tries a head kick but it misses.

Pacman wants to clinch up but Le keeps it at a distance.

Pacman feints and as Le raises his hands in defense, Pacman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Le escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pacman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Le looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Pacman has picked Le up and slammed him! Le can't keep hold of the triangle and Pacman manages to pass to side control!
Le takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Pacman landing strikes.
Pacman wants to stand but Le is controlling his arm.
A lull in the action here as Pacman stalls from top position.
Pacman lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Pacman staying calm.
Pacman works to advance to full mount. Le defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Le really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pacman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pacman lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Pacman working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Pacman breaks from Le's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Le in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Pacman swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
