Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Martens (ranked 2496 p4p, 1874 weight class) and Enzo Mendoza (ranked 283 p4p, 216 weight class). Martens comes to the cage accompanied by The XX - Intro. Alex Martens had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Enzo Mendoza has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Enzo Mendoza!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza avoids the head kick by Martens.
Mendoza throws a lazy uppercut
and Martens counters with a nice uppercut.
Martens throws a shot from downtown. Mendoza moves away and avoids it.
Mendoza misses with an uppercut
and Martens counters with a one-two to the body.
Mendoza misses with the combination.

Mendoza drops Martens with a beautiful combination! Martens stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Mendoza is looking for the KO!

Martens is rocked!

It looks like Alex Martens has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Oh Martens is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Mendoza escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Martens seems to have got his legs back now.

Mendoza misses with a wild combination.
Martens half committed to a counter leg kick.
Martens lands with a thumping leg kick.
Left hook, right uppercut from Martens.
Martens throws a hook but Mendoza blocks it.
Despite the aggression on Mendoza's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Martens thows a leg kick but Mendoza checks it
and Mendoza connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A nice leg kick from Martens, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mendoza connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Martens! He's out on his feet! Mendoza rushes in and drops Martens with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

After the fight, Enzo Mendoza was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
