Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Koh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Merel!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Koh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Merel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Koh avoids the body shot from Merel.
Merel throws the left hand but Koh avoids the punch easily.
Koh slips under a jab.
Koh wants to clinch.
Merel fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Koh looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Anthony Merel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Merel shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Merel connects with a nice short shot to Koh's temple.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Koh looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Merel wants to take a breather but Koh is having none of it.

Koh looking for submissions off his back.
Merel working Koh over with strikes.
Koh is trying to get back to full guard.
Koh wants to get back to full guard but Merel has passed into side control.
Koh tries to buck Merel off but Merel is having none of it.
Koh regains half guard.
Koh tries to get to full guard but Merel has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koh looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Koh won't allow Merel to pass to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Koh is not content to let Merel control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Merel maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Koh could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Merel has cracked it and Koh is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Merel!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Anthony Merel!
