Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leevi Saros (ranked 2041 p4p, 4396 weight class) and Roberto Jimenez (ranked 283 p4p, 525 weight class). Saros comes into the arena with Marko Hietala - Stones blaring out of the sound system. Leevi Saros is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leevi Saros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roberto Jimenez!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez has his takedown stuffed
and Saros counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Saros ducks under a wild hook from Jimenez.
Jimenez misses with a double jab
and Saros counters with a one-two to the body.
Jimenez missing with a left hand there. Saros was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Saros fires out a quick counter leg kick but Jimenez just manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jimenez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jimenez moves to clinch but Saros breaks away
and Saros counters with a nice uppercut.

We've been told by Saros's head coaches at The Scrap Squad that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jimenez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Saros.
Saros swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Jimenez tries a head kick but it misses.
Jimenez doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Saros to counter with a crisp jab.
Jimenez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A quick step to the side and Saros tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jimenez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Saros's guard.
Jimenez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Saros's guard.
Jimenez wants to pass the guard but Saros is defending well.
Saros wants to get back to full guard.

Jimenez is pressing down on Saros's thigh, looking to free his foot. Saros is holding on for now.
Saros is not content to let Jimenez control the position.
Jimenez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Saros tries to get to full guard but Jimenez has control of the leg.

Saros is defending against the submission attempts here by Jimenez.

Jimenez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jimenez is pressing down on Saros's thigh, looking to free his foot. Saros is holding on for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jimenez is stalling here. Saros is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jimenez seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Saros has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Jimenez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jimenez wants to get back to full guard.
Jimenez is still trying to improve position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jimenez is trying to control but can't.

That was a close round but I would say that Leevi Saros will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Saros avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Saros stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Saros wants it to stay on the feet.
Saros was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Roberto Jimenez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jimenez dives in and grabs Saros's left leg, looking for a takedown. Saros pushes down on Jimenez's head and hops out.

Jimenez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

and Saros makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Jimenez throws a head kick but Saros moves out of range.
Saros is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Saros avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Saros seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Leevi Saros is winning the standup battle so far.
Jimenez turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Saros displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jimenez.

Jimenez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Saros smiles and moves away.

As Jimenez looks to move away, Saros throws a big counter combo but Jimenez just gets out of the way.

It looked like Saros wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jimenez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Saros counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jimenez thinking.

and Saros counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jimenez does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Saros is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

and Saros counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jimenez thinking.
Jimenez looks for a takedown but Saros sprawls well.
Saros swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Jimenez.
Saros is looking to wear down Jimenez with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

and Saros counters with a three punch combo that has Jimenez backing up. Jimenez nods at Saros to acknowledge the strikes.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
