Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Isla Dawn (ranked 4224 p4p, 2956 weight class) and Jesse Lazrus (ranked 0 p4p, 296 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Isla Dawn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Lazrus!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawn looks for a takedown but Lazrus sprawls well.
Dawn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lazrus throws a right and a left that Dawn avoids nicely.

Lazrus throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Dawn shoots in for a double leg but Lazrus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Dawn tries to counter by clinching up but Lazrus breaks away and moves out of range.
Dawn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lazrus swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dawn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lazrus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dawn somewhat.

Dawn is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Lazrus is defending well.
Lazrus tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Dawn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lazrus as he avoids it easily.

Dawn has had enough of the clinch but Lazrus keeps him there for the moment.

Lazrus is trying to control the position but Dawn postures up.

Dawn seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Dawn could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dawn takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dawn wants to stand but Lazrus is controlling his posture from full guard.
Dawn passes into half guard.
Lazrus won't allow Dawn to pass to mount.
Lazrus preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dawn is looking to stall here but Lazrus recovers full guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Lazrus throws a body shot but no joy.
Lazrus walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dawn checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Isla Dawn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lazrus jumps guard but Dawn turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lazrus throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dawn.

Lazrus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Dawn shoots in for a takedown but Lazrus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dawn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lazrus's waist but Lazrus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dawn off to one side.

Dawn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lazrus walks away with a smile on his face. Dawn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Dawn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lazrus dives in for a single leg takedown but Dawn sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Lazrus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Isla Dawn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Lazrus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
