PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Mack (ranked 5191 p4p, 5732 weight class) and George Jackson (ranked 584 p4p, 625 weight class). Jimmy Mack is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Mack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mack shoots in and gets a takedown into Jackson's guard.
Mack controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mack stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mack is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Mack wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Mack passes Jackson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mack is taking a breather. Jackson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson tries to get to full guard but Mack has control of the leg.
Mack looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mack trying to mount his opponent but Jackson defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mack controlling the action here.
Mack trying to pass the guard but Jackson defending well.
Mack is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Mack missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson has a hand on Mack's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Mack takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Mack looking to control but Jackson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Mack prevents Jackson from getting the reversal.
Mack sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Mack wants to control the pace but Jackson is squirming around nicely.
Mack looking to control and managing it successfully.
Jackson regains half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jackson is trying to maintain the position but Mack is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mack trying to control the pace.
Mack uses his free foot to push down on Jackson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jackson.

Mack goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jackson turns into him and now he's in Mack's guard.
Mack is trying to keep Jackson in close.
Mack strikes from his own guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mack bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.

Mack controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Mack is in close to Jackson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mack trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Jackson can't keep his opponent in guard - Mack advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mack performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mack wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Mack dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Mack changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jackson throws Mack to one side and escapes!

Jackson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mack to the ground. Jackson is now in Mack's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mack is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mack will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Mack tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mack is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jackson preventing the sweep.
Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but Mack has wrist control.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Mack keeps moving.
Mack will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mack swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mack is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jackson is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mack trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Jackson stands and steps away. Mack gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Jackson moves forwards but Mack connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Mack misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jackson takes a kick to the side of the head.
Jackson has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
A nice combination there by Jackson.
Mack lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jackson's sensitive parts.
Mack stuns Jackson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mack, as that shot connected.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jackson tries to clinch there but Mack circles away.
Mack throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Jackson.
Mack throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mack scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mack misses with a wild body shot.
Mack is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jackson can do to turn this around?

Jackson dives in and scores a takedown into Mack's guard.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Mack working a defensive guard here.
Mack thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Mack is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mack throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Mack utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Mack keeps moving.

Mack has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Jackson doesn't defend quickly enough and Mack has managed to lock this one up! Can Jackson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Mack on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jimmy Mack!
