PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rickard Karstark (ranked 3286 p4p, 3262 weight class) and Saenchai Sor (ranked 356 p4p, 353 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karstark throws a leg kick that misses.
Karstark throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Sor stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sor lands a nice leg kick that just misses Karstark's sensitive parts.
Karstark throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sor sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sor wants to counter with a clinch but Karstark pushes him away.

Rickard Karstark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sor is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Sor throws a big shot that misses.

Sor throws a hook to the side of Karstark's head but Karstark sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Karstark takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sor enables Karstark to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sor manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Karstark slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Sor wants to stand and escape but Karstark is having none of it.
Karstark postures up in Sor's guard and throws a big left but Sor blocks it.
Karstark will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Karstark has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Karstark is looking for a kimura but Sor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Karstark to get the leverage.
Karstark wants to advance to full mount but Sor doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Karstark is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sor is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sor has escaped and now he's on top!

My spies in Tran MMA Gym inform me that Sor has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Karstark was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

The fighters circle, before Sor throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Karstark's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Sor lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Saenchai Sor was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
