Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kiril Bohizdar (ranked 232 p4p, 617 weight class) and Gemechu McKraken (ranked 14 p4p, 34 weight class). Gemechu McKraken has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kiril Bohizdar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Gemechu McKraken!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKraken throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McKraken uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bohizdar takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
McKraken avoids the head kick by Bohizdar.
McKraken tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
McKraken connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bohizdar's hands.

McKraken's coach down at McGrady FT was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McKraken's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Bohizdar throws a quick head kick that skims the top of McKraken's head.
McKraken uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bohizdar.
McKraken lands an overhand right.
We've been told by Bohizdar's head coaches at Desert Fitness & Training -13 Elites/1 Sensational that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McKraken.
Bohizdar tries a head kick but it misses.
McKraken dives in and scores a takedown into Bohizdar's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bohizdar has momentary wrist control but McKraken slips an elbow through the middle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McKraken postures up in Bohizdar's guard and throws a big left but Bohizdar blocks it.
McKraken won't allow Bohizdar to sweep him here.
McKraken throws an elbow that misses. Bohizdar uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McKraken's guard. Nice move by Bohizdar!
Bohizdar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McKraken working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bohizdar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bohizdar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bohizdar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McKraken swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bohizdar is keen to just control but McKraken is a slippery customer.
McKraken is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bohizdar's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bohizdar's back!

McKraken has his foot on Bohizdar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bohizdar works his way back into a safe position though.

McKraken has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bohizdar doesn't defend quickly enough and McKraken has managed to lock this one up! Can Bohizdar escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to McKraken on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Gemechu McKraken!
After the fight, Gemechu McKraken was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
