PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jurumin Silva (ranked 2707 p4p, 2768 weight class) and Lion Tiger (ranked 293 p4p, 302 weight class). Tiger has chosen Alok - Hear Me Tonight as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Lion Tiger is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jurumin Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lion Tiger!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy body kick from Silva
letting Tiger counter with a right hand.
Silva looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Good standup being displayed there by Tiger as he connects with a hook.
Silva throws a poor cross that misses
and Tiger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Silva throws a lazy right hand but Tiger sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Tiger throws out a counter right but Silva avoids it with no problem.

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Silva wants to control from the top but Tiger keeps moving.
Silva is pushing down on Tiger's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tiger is fighting to maintain full guard but Silva has managed to sneak the leg through.

Silva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Tiger is looking for a sweep. Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tiger is not content to let Silva control the position.
Tiger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tiger desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Silva trying to control the action but Tiger is working from the bottom.
Tiger tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg.
Silva is trying to control the action in half guard but Tiger is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Silva is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silva is keen to just control but Tiger is a slippery customer.
Tiger is looking to improve his position.

Silva is working for a kimura but Tiger is defending it quite comfortably.
Silva controlling the action here.
Tiger tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Tiger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silva thows a huge punch but Tiger dodges it nicely.
Silva performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Tiger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Silva is working for a kimura but Tiger is defending it quite comfortably.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Tiger is defending well.
Silva performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Tiger is holding on to half guard well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Silva trying to control from half guard but Tiger is working away.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jurumin Silva dominated that round.
That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Tiger slips a jab from Silva.
Despite the aggression on Tiger's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Silva throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Tiger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Silva misses with a lunging right hand
and Tiger counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Tiger feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Silvas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Silva throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tiger cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Silva misses with a takedown
and Tiger counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva throws a predictable looking body shot
and Tiger counters with a crisp right that sends Silva to the canvas! Tiger follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lion Tiger!
An out of breath Lion Tiger thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
