Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dylan Elkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rhondon Rousey!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rousey connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Elkins's hands.
Elkins avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rousey throws a body shot but no joy.
Elkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rousey moves away.
We've been informed that Rousey has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Rousey has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rousey there as he acknowledges the shot.
Elkins digs a good hook to Rousey's body.
We've been hearing reports that Elkins has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Elkins throws an off balance right hand
and Rousey counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Rousey counters by moving into the clinch.
Elkins wants to take the fight to the mat but Rousey manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Rousey is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rousey creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Elkins drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rousey pulls his leg out and moves away.

Elkins throws the left hand but Rousey avoids the punch easily.
Elkins throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rousey tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Elkins is in Rousey's guard.
Rousey manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Rousey gets through Elkins's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Elkins is trying to drag Rousey to the mat but Rousey just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Rousey has Elkins pressed against the cage. He pushes Elkins back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Rousey throws a beautiful elbow that sends Elkins crashing to the floor! Rousey piles on the pressure with more strikes! Elkins is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rhondon Rousey!
After the fight, Rhondon Rousey was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
