PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ruby Belrose (ranked 4301 p4p, 4532 weight class) and Test Two (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ruby Belrose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Test Two!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Belrose.
Belrose tries to score a power double leg takedown but Two sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Belrose somewhat.
Two misses with an uppercut. Belrose saw that one coming.
Belrose seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Belrose throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Two's waist but Two gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Belrose off to one side.
Two throws a body punch but Belrose moves out of range.
Belrose throws a quick counter head kick but Two was just out of range.
Two ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Belrose moves away.
Belrose fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Two avoids it really well and circles away.
It seemed like Two was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ruby Belrose. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Two tries to lock up and control but Belrose gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Belrose manages to capitalize on a mistake by Two to take his back!

Two is really stuck here.
Two wants to control his opponent's hands but Belrose gets his hands free.

Belrose looking to break Two's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Two remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Belrose will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Two can't escape the position.

Belrose lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Two hold on?!

You can see the frustration on Two's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Two keeps trying to improve his position.

Belrose is looking to control Two but Two is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Belrose punishes Two with strikes from the back mount.

Two controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.

Two breaks Belrose's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Two trying to control the position from guard on top but Belrose is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Two might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Belrose haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Belrose is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ruby Belrose is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nice straight punches there by Two. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Two.
Two misses with a hook. Belrose ducked under it nicely.

Belrose closes the distance and pushes Two back into the cage.
Belrose lands an elbow inside that Two shrugs off.

It looks like Test Two has been cut.
Two avoiding damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Belrose stalling in the clinch but Two improves position.
Belrose can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Belrose has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Two uses from the top position.

Two has a couple of punches blocked by Belrose.

Two lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Belrose.
Belrose prevents Two from breaking the clinch.
Belrose blocks a punch to the side of the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Test Two showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Two gets control of Belrose's arms and successfully pulls guard. Two will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Belrose accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Two connects with a body shot that sends Belrose's belly button to the back.
Belrose shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Two as he avoids it easily.

and Two counters by clinching up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Two tries for a takedown but Belrose manages to get underhooks.
Two has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Belrose tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Two smiles and moves away.

Belrose slips under a jab.
Belrose has his takedown stuffed
and Two connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Belrose tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Test Two is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Two tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Belrose was well out of range. Poor timing from Two.
Two throws a looping overhand right but Belrose ducks down to avoid it.

Two throws out a loose jab but Belrose uses good head movement to avoid it.
Two loads up on a big right hand but Belrose slips the punch.
Two comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nice straight punches there by Two. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Two.
Two dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Belrose with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Two to score with a decent uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Two throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Two throws a looping overhand right but Belrose ducks down to avoid it.
Ruby Belrose seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Belrose connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Belrose uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Two.
Belrose fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Test Two comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Two has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
