I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Franck Kodjia was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Karim Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Franck Kodjia!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kodjia throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Kodjia pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kodjia connects with a high kick.
Johnson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kodjia.
Johnson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Kodjia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it.
It looked like Johnson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Johnson misses with a looping left.

Kodjia gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
A head punch on the inside from Johnson fails to land.
Johnson tries a body shot but Kodjia blocks it.
Kodjia lands with a left to the head.

Johnson breaks from the clinch.
Kodjia tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.
Kodjia wants to clinch.
Kodjia misses with a body punch
and Johnson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kodjia really felt that one!
Johnson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic in the buildup to the fight.
Kodjia looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Johnson lands the left hand.

It looks like Franck Kodjia has been cut.
Johnson lands with a good body shot.
Johnson misses with a body shot.
Kodjia just misses with a punch to the body.
Johnson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kodjia. That did some damage!
Kodjia throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Johnson.
Kodjia looks winded!
Kodjia tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.

and Johnson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Johnson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Johnson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Kodjia throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Nice body kick from Johnson.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Johnson lands a big uppercut and Kodjia crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kodjia looks OK. Johnson waves Kodjia back to his feet!

Kodjia is rocked!
Johnson connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Kodjia out cold! This one is over in a flash!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Karim Johnson!
