These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manners with a poor takedown
and Johns counters with a left to the body.

Manners drives through with a takedown into guard.

Johns has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Manners has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Johns breaks the clinch.
Manners shoots and misses
and Johns counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Johns throws a sloppy head kick and Manners moves out of range easily.
Johns misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johns throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Manners stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Manners is breathing heavily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Manners.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Manners. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Manners will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Manners shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johns as he jumps to the side.
A shot to the liver by Johns. Beautiful body shot.

Manners gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

It looks like Matt Manners has been cut.
Manners fails with a takedown attempt.
Manners leaves his chin hanging out and Johns seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Manners crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
