Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edward Conan (ranked 45 p4p, 173 weight class) and Lamont Banner (ranked 4 p4p, 24 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Conan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lamont Banner !
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Conan manages to avoid it.
Banner misses with a body shot.
Edward Conan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Banner takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Banner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Conan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Conan misses with a hook.
A shot to the liver by Conan. Beautiful body shot.
Conan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Banner .
Conan's corner calls for a 1-2. Conan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Banner gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Banner throws a shot from downtown. Conan moves away and avoids it.
Banner misses with an uppercut. Conan saw that one coming.
A low kick from Banner is predictable there
and Conan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Conan slips under a jab from Banner .
Conan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nice jab there from Conan.
Banner tries to clinch but Conan moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Banner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Conan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Banner .
Banner throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Conan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Banner looking for a guillotine here but Conan defends easily.
Banner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Conan defends it easily.
Banner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Conan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Conan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Conan content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Banner working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Conan has passed into half guard!

Banner is looking to control Conan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Banner avoid being mounted?

Conan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Conan winds up and cracks Banner with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Conan slips a nice elbow through Banner 's hands, connecting with Banner 's forehead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Banner looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Conan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Banner is just riding it out for now. Conan eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Banner is trying to control but can't.
Conan is just content to waste time from the top position. Banner takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Conan passes Banner 's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Banner wants to improve his position but Conan is controlling well.
Banner wants to control but Conan is keeping busy.
Conan wants to take a breather but Banner is having none of it.
Conan drops an elbow to the side of Banner 's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Banner is trying to control but Conan manages to pass to mount!

Banner tries to hold on but Conan pushes him away.
Conan is landing with some decent strikes but Banner is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Banner is rocked!
Conan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Banner is looking to escape.
Banner is still in real trouble! Can Conan finish him?
Conan prevents Banner from getting the reversal.
Conan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Banner can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Banner tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Banner tries to lock up and control but Conan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Conan postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Banner looks a forlorn figure.
Conan loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Banner scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Conan land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Conan stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edward Conan!
