PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thip Top (ranked 1723 p4p, 1984 weight class) and Dingleberry Jones (ranked 189 p4p, 211 weight class). Top comes to the cage accompanied by Self Destructor - Chevelle. Jones has chosen Hell Yeah as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thip Top!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dingleberry Jones!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Top has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jones is on him like a limpet, forcing Top back against the cage.
Top tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jones blocks an elbow strike from Top.

Top breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Top chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Top looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Top lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jones has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jones and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Top thows a body kick. Jones tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones walks into a stiff left hand from Top.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Top is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Top circles away and we're back to standing.
Top cracks Jones with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

A little jabbing left from Jones on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Jones lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Thip Top has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dingleberry Jones.
Jones moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Top feints and then cracks Jones's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jones down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Top uses from the top position.

Top tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jones has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Top.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Top throws a jab but it's blocked by Jones.
Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Top bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Top stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Top wants it to stay on the feet.

Top has hold of Jones's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jones manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
