Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between George Backman (ranked 1776 p4p, 1267 weight class) and Jaro Lalla (ranked 98 p4p, 71 weight class). Lalla has chosen ЛЮБИ as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, George Backman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 15 - 2, fighting out of London, Jaro Lalla!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Backman takes a swing at Lalla's ribcage but misses.
Backman tries to bum rush Lalla with a series of wild strikes but Lalla uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Backman lands a nice hook to Lalla's body. Lalla takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Backman throws a lazy right hand but Lalla sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Lalla throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Backman's waist but Backman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lalla off to one side.

Lalla closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Backman to the mat! Backman manages to get full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lalla drops back looking for a leg! Backman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Backman manages to kick Lalla off! Lalla jumps back into Backman's guard.

Backman wants to sweep here but Lalla controlling him for the moment.

Lalla shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lalla was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lalla goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Backman has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lalla but great work by Backman.

Backman decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lalla to his feet.
Backman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
