Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Guy McGuy (ranked 4466 p4p, 4379 weight class) and Ali Gohari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGuy gets a takedown into half guard.

Gohari has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but McGuy is on him like a limpet, forcing Gohari back against the cage.

McGuy goes for a takedown attempt but Gohari pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Gohari shoots in and gets a takedown into McGuy's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are working up against the cage. McGuy manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

McGuy drives through and clinches with Gohari against the cage.

McGuy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gohari got a little sloppy there for a moment and McGuy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gohari has managed to get both his arms back between McGuy's legs - danger averted.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gohari accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

McGuy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gohari defends it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGuy keeping moving, preventing Gohari from controlling successfully.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McGuy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Gohari wants to pass the guard but McGuy is keeping the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

McGuy takes the fight into the clinch.

McGuy manages to pull guard.

Gohari drops back looking for a leg! McGuy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McGuy manages to kick Gohari off! Gohari jumps back into McGuy's guard.

A close round but Ali Gohari will probably get the nod.

McGuy makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

McGuy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

McGuy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Gohari working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McGuy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McGuy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gohari is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gohari might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McGuy haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

McGuy feints and as Gohari raises his hands in defense, McGuy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

McGuy stands and steps away. Gohari gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
