Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Snapple Grapple (ranked 2830 p4p, 23300 weight class) and Jimmy Wynns Jr (ranked 279 p4p, 480 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Snapple Grapple!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jimmy Wynns Jr!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wynns Jr is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wynns Jr wants to clinch up but Grapple keeps it at a distance.
Grapple misses with a hook.
Grapple looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Grapple lands an overhand right.

Grapple gets the takedown into side control.
Wynns Jr throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Grapple tries to advance position but instead Wynns Jr slips a leg back in to half guard.
Grapple winds up and cracks Wynns Jr with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Grapple is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Grapple is working for a kimura but Wynns Jr is defending it quite comfortably.
Wynns Jr wants to control but Grapple is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grapple sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Wynns Jr defending well though.
Grapple lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Wynns Jr on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Grapple wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wynns Jr keeps working.
Grapple lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Grapple is looking to advance position but Wynns Jr won't allow it.

Grapple looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wynns Jr with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wynns Jr wants to get back to full guard.
Wynns Jr misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Grapple working over Wynns Jr with some ground and pound. Wynns Jr looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Grapple working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Wynns Jr's thigh. Wynns Jr counters though and makes it back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Grapple trying to control but Wynns Jr is working from the bottom.

Grapple is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wynns Jr is just riding it out for now. Grapple eventually gives up the hold.
Wynns Jr felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Wynns Jr tries to kick Grapple off but Grapple keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Grapple landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Grapple looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Grapple not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Grapple is looking to pass Wynns Jr's guard but actually Wynns Jr recovers to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Grapple keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wynns Jr's head.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Grapple has control of Wynns Jr's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wynns Jr regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Grapple lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Grapple closes the distance and clinches.

Grapple throws a punch but it's blocked by Wynns Jr.
Grapple pushes Wynns Jr back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Grapple tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wynns Jr smiles and moves away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Grapple ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Grapple no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Grapple drops back looking for a leg! Wynns Jr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wynns Jr manages to kick Grapple off! Grapple jumps back into Wynns Jr's guard.
Grapple throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wynns Jr works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Grapple wants to control from the top but Wynns Jr keeps moving.

Wynns Jr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Grapple sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wynns Jr's guard.

Wynns Jr wants to improve his position but Grapple is controlling well.
Wynns Jr is pressing down on Grapple's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Grapple stands up over Wynns Jr, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Wynns Jr wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Snapple Grapple overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Snapple Grapple is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Well, if Grapple is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Grapple takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Grapple is working for a kimura but Wynns Jr is defending it quite comfortably.

Grapple content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Grapple seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wynns Jr for as long as he can get away with.
Jimmy Wynns Jr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
