Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Peterson (ranked 1896 p4p, 1463 weight class) and David McDonald (ranked 258 p4p, 204 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dylan Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Peterson misses with a right hand
and McDonald counters with a lovely shot to the body.
McDonald misses with a hook. Peterson ducked under it nicely.
Peterson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Peterson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces McDonald back to the cage. Peterson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like David McDonald has been cut.
McDonald leaves Peterson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

McDonald tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
McDonald looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McDonald has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

We've been hearing good reports from Peterson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

McDonald is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Peterson is just riding it out for now. McDonald eventually gives up the hold.

Peterson feints and as McDonald raises his hands in defense, Peterson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

McDonald escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Peterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
