Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Denubis Majere (ranked 4000 p4p, 3959 weight class) and Alex Rafael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rafael has chosen despasito as his entrance music. Alex Rafael is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Denubis Majere!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Rafael!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rafael gets a takedown into half guard.
Rafael tries to pass to full mount but Majere defends it.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Majere is positioning himself well to prevent Rafael advancing to mount.

Majere is not content to let Rafael control the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Majere manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

It looks like Majere has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Rafael is trying to control the position but Majere postures up.
Majere passes Rafael's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Majere stops Rafael from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Majere is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Rafael has his hands clasped together around Majere's back. He's all about the action.
Rafael is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rafael is breathing heavily.
Rafael wants to get back to full guard.

Majere passes to full mount!

Rafael is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Majere controlling his opponent.
Rafael is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Majere content just to control the position here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rafael is trying to escape the mount.
Majere is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rafael can do to turn this around?
Majere controlling from mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Rafael doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Majere counter with a right hand.

Rafael changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Majere looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Majere tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Rafael presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Majere is trying desperately to improve position.
Majere blocking the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Majere holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Rafael tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Majere avoids a strike by Rafael and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Rafael's guard! Fantastic escape!

Majere seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Rafael wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Majere is now in half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rafael is trying to control but can't.

Rafael won't allow Majere to pass to mount.
Rafael is looking to control Majere's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rafael avoid being mounted?
Rafael takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Majere tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rafael knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Majere is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rafael!
Rafael tries to lock up and control but Majere gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Majere tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Denubis Majere is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rafael throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Rafael is in all sorts of trouble here.
Majere manages to capitalize on a mistake by Rafael to take his back!

Majere slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Rafael is really stuck here.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Majere controlling the positon.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
I really don't envy Rafael right now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Denubis Majere showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Majere, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
