Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Man Ape (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Man Ape has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Man Ape!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy West!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West throws a right and a left that Ape avoids nicely.
Ape throws a series of punches but West moves out of range.
West waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Ape.
Ape throws a series of punches but West moves out of range.
West throws a hook but Ape blocks it.
Ape keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


It looks like Randy West has been cut.
Ape steps into range and cracks West with a monster punch that buckles his knees! West flops backwards and Ape dives into his guard looking to finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
West looking for a sweep. Not yet West, not yet.
West manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ape manages to get himself to full guard.
West trying to control but Ape is working from the bottom.
West slips nicely into half guard.
West wants to free his trapped foot but Ape is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's one minute gone in the round.

West is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
West thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
West trying to mount his opponent but Ape defends it.

West is working for a submission of some sort.
West prevents Ape from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
West passes to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ape squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
West throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

West working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
West misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ape is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Ape knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for West on the ground.

West jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ape is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ape and West has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
West tries to advance to mount but Ape instead regains half guard.

West is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ape defends it well.
Ape is trying to stand up here but West is controlling him well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

West is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ape doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time West.
West missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

West looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
West not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Man Ape dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Randy West's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Nice cross by Ape.
Ape drops West with a beautiful combination! West stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ape is looking for the KO!


West is rocked!


That has opened up Randy West's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ape lands with a big right hook that stumbles West - he's out on his feet here! Ape follows up with another monster hook that separates West from consciousness! West falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Ape stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Man Ape!
