PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Reeves (ranked 24571 p4p, 6690 weight class) and Jack Lobos (ranked 670 p4p, 613 weight class). Lobos is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by D-Generation X. William Reeves has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, William Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Lobos!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reeves closes the distance and clinches up with Lobos, looking for a takedown. Reeves pushes Lobos against the cage but Lobos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Reeves throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Lobos on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Reeves definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Reeves misses with a double jab.
Lobos throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lobos pushes Reeves away with a front kick.
Reeves misses with a low kick as Lobos jumps back.
Lobos misses with an attempted mid kick.
Reeves attempts a counter takedown but Lobos avoids it well and moves away.
Lobos tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Reeves is able to avoid easily.
A nice combination there by Lobos.
Lobos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lobos throws a leg kick that is checked

and Reeves counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Reeves is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lobos has managed to free his arm - good work.
Lobos works his way to full guard. Good work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reeves tries to free his leg and advance position but Lobos is retaining full guard.

Lobos working for a triangle but Reeves defends it easily.
Reeves loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Lobos is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Reeves drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lobos manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Reeves has Lobos in his guard.

Lobos throwing strikes but missing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lobos throws a big elbow that misses.

Reeves looking for a guillotine here but Lobos defends easily.
Reeves will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Lobos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Reeves has his foot on Lobos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lobos works his way back into a safe position though.
Lobos chips away with some ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lobos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lobos is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lobos lands a couple of elbows.
Lobos keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Reeves's head.
Lobos throws a big right hand that misses.
Reeves is breathing heavily.

Lobos stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Reeves has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Lobos manages to get his head free but now Reeves has transitioned to an armbar! Lobos grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Reeves! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). William Reeves!
In defeat, Jack Lobos stepped up to the mic, saying 'Sorry Mom'.
