PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Batang Kock (ranked 1752 p4p, 3550 weight class) and Pure Striker (ranked 209 p4p, 341 weight class). Pure Striker told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Batang Kock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Pure Striker!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Striker.
Pure Striker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Striker tries a head kick but it misses.

Kock takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kock cracks Striker with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Striker is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Striker throws out a loose jab but Kock uses good head movement to avoid it.

Striker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Striker is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Kock has his hands clasped together but Striker extends and breaks Kock's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Striker.

Pure Striker gave a mention to UN-KAGED SAVAGE PEDS in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
Batang Kock was interviewed post fight and said 'I lost? Give me a beer.'.
