Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Theory (ranked 3699 p4p, 4891 weight class) and Panda One (ranked 472 p4p, 570 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nick Theory !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Panda One!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Theory rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but One moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
One fails to land with a series of punches.
Theory throws a combination. One tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like Panda One has been cut.
Theory tries to clinch but One moves away

and One counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Theory throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Theory is trying to keep One in close.
One wants to stand but Theory is controlling his posture from full guard.
Theory looking for a sweep. Not yet Theory , not yet.
Theory throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
One is looking to stand up but Theory won't let him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
One's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Theory trying to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
One fails in his attempt to clinch.
Some wild striking there from One.
One stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and One wants it to stay on the feet.
Theory is on the wrong end of a nice combination from One.

It looks like Nick Theory has been cut.

One changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Theory looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Theory explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A punch combination from Theory misses.
One tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

One feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Theory is breathing heavily.
Theory throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Theory is trying to keep One in close.
One won't allow Theory to sweep him here.
One must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
One engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Theory has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as One accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Theory working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from One.
Theory is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

One throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Theory was covering up waiting for the punch and One finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
One won't allow Theory to get back to his feet.
One should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
One stays in close to Theory 's body and controls the position.
Theory will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
One trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

One stands up from guard. Let's bang!

One closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
One controlling the pace.
One throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Theory tries to kick One off in order to stand up. One Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Panda One dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

One drops back looking for a leg! Theory is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Theory manages to kick One off! One jumps back into Theory 's guard.
Theory not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
One content to stall in guard here.
Theory throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

One is looking to work some ground and pound but Theory has wrist control.
One not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Theory keeping full guard, as One tries to pass.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

One dives in and scores a takedown into Theory 's guard.
One pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Theory is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Theory is trying to control the position but One postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
One wants to stand but Theory has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
One trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
One slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
One avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
One swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Theory wants to clinch
and One counters with a stiff right hand.
Theory shoots in for a double leg but One sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Theory moves in looking to clinch but One pushes him off.
One looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Theory shoots in and drives through. One sprawls well.

One shoots in and bounces Theory off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Theory is looking to stand back up but One counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Theory .

One trying to control the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
One wants to stand up but Theory has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Theory keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
One seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Panda One has got the better of the ground game so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
One's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Panda One showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Theory shoots and misses

and One counters with a crisp one two that drops Theory ! One thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Theory to his feet! Theory is in big trouble!

Theory is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
One tries to land a front kick but Theory steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Oh Theory is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Theory tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. One manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

One closes the distance looking for a takedown. Theory stuffs it but One still has hold of him. One picks Theory up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. One slams Theory to the floor and that's really hurt Theory - he doesn't know where he is! One throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Panda One!
