Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rich Voss (ranked 4947 p4p, 24215 weight class) and Patryk Mikolajczyk (ranked 509 p4p, 611 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rich Voss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Patryk Mikolajczyk!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voss circles away from the clinch attempt

and Voss counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Voss drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Voss jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Voss postures up and lands a big shot to Mikolajczyk's brow.
Mikolajczyk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Voss. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mikolajczyk wants to improve his position but instead Voss has moved into half guard.
Voss is taking a breather. Mikolajczyk says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Voss has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Mikolajczyk is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Voss scores with a couple of nice shots.
Voss moves nicely into side control.
Voss in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
A lull in the action here.
Voss looks up at the clock and then as Mikolajczyk takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Voss smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Voss has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Voss sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The referee warns Mikolajczyk that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Voss swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mikolajczyk is now in Voss's guard. A big mistake from Voss there, giving up the dominant position!
Mikolajczyk is fighting to break Voss's control of his arms but Voss is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Voss tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Mikolajczyk drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Voss dives on top into guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Voss stopping the sweep attempt from Mikolajczyk.
Mikolajczyk can't keep his opponent in guard - Voss advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Voss is nestled in close to Mikolajczyk, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Voss lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Voss takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Voss winds up and cracks Mikolajczyk with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Voss lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Mikolajczyk wants to improve his position but Voss is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Voss content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rich Voss dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Mikolajczyk is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Voss looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mikolajczyk!
Mikolajczyk is looking to regain half guard here but Voss keeps moving and retains side control.
Voss is working Mikolajczyk over with some ground and pound from side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mikolajczyk trying to control but Voss flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Voss really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Mikolajczyk.
Voss is trying to stick to Mikolajczyk's back but Mikolajczyk is turning into Voss. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Voss's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mikolajczyk.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Voss is on top in guard.

Voss is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Voss is fighting to break Mikolajczyk's control of his arms but Mikolajczyk is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Voss landing with the ground and pound.

Mikolajczyk looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Voss has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Voss lands a couple of digs.
Mikolajczyk can't keep his opponent in guard - Voss advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Voss is nestled in close to Mikolajczyk, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Well, if Voss is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mikolajczyk on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Voss has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mikolajczyk defend it? Voss steps over the head and cranks it - Mikolajczyk is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Voss!

Rich Voss bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
