The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimura looks to land a combination but Alyoshin avoids it well.
Shimura lands with a good body shot.

Shimura throws a left and a right that both miss
and Alyoshin counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Takashi Shimura has been cut.
Shimura misses the shot to the body.
Alyoshin throws out a counter right but Shimura avoids it with no problem.
Takashi Shimura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alyoshin closes the distance and pushes Shimura back into the cage.
Shimura misses with a hook from the clinch.

Alyoshin misses with a knee to the head.
Alyoshin lands a body shot in the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alyoshin pushes Shimura back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Shimura manages to break the clinch.

Shimura chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Alyoshin can pounce on him.
Shimura gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
