Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bertel Haardt (ranked 3203 p4p, 2917 weight class) and Yowis Ben (ranked 345 p4p, 318 weight class). Yowis Ben will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

Ben darts in looking for a takedown but Haardt gets double underhooks and turns Ben into the cage.
Ben looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Haardt is fending him off so far but Ben persists. Nope, Haardt circles away and we're back to standing.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ben.
Haardt parries the strikes from Ben easily there. Ben is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Haardt to escape.
Ben works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Haardt is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Haardt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ben on the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ben tries to score with some ground and pound. Haardt controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Ben lands a decent elbow from side control.

Ben wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Haardt, who protects the arm well.
The strikes coming from Ben are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Haardt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ben goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Haardt rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ben's guard! Nice work there by Haardt!
Haardt is looking to stand up but Ben won't let him.

Ben controls Haardt momentarily but Haardt frees himself.
Haardt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Ben wants to sweep but no luck.

Ben bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Haardt's guard.

Ben slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Haardt is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Ben drops back looking for a leg! Haardt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Haardt manages to kick Ben off! Ben jumps back into Haardt's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ben working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ben is working Haardt over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Ben throws a strike but Haardt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ben escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Haardt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Haardt stands and steps away. Ben gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Haardt clinches up with Ben and pushes him back against the cage.
Haardt stops a takedown attempt from Ben.
Bertel Haardt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yowis Ben.
Ben drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Haardt gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Haardt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Haardt lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Ben closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Oooooh!!! Haardt has knocked Ben down with a huge combo! Haardt steps away and waves a wobbly Ben back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Yowis Ben seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Haardt counters by clinching up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Haardt has Ben up against the cage in a clinch.
Haardt lands a left hand.

That has opened up Yowis Ben's cut even more.
Haardt is trying to maintain a safe position but Ben gets an underhook and turns Haardt into the cage.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Haardt obliges.
Ben takes a knee to the side of the body.
The referee calls for Haardt to work.
Ben goes for a takedown attempt but Haardt pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Haardt cracks Ben with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Ben looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Haardt finish him?
Ben is still on wobbly legs! Can Haardt finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Haardt measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Ben! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
