Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Brooks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marlon John!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from John.
Brooks tries to close the distance and clinch but John swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I was talking to Brooks's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Brooks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
John dives in and grabs Brooks's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brooks pushes down on John's head and hops out.
John ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

John changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brooks tries to avoid it but John manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brooks to the ground. Brooks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

John feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw John working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
John goes for a double leg but Brooks avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Brooks continues to drive forward.

John changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brooks looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Marlon John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eric Brooks will probably get the nod.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now John is on top in guard.

Marlon John comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Brooks has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
