Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frankie McGregor (ranked 5005 p4p, 4910 weight class) and Apollo Creed (ranked 560 p4p, 553 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Apollo Creed!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Bruno Lombardi.

McGregor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A slow jab from McGregor misses its intended target.
Creed feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits McGregors jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Creed tries to clinch but McGregor is having none of it.
McGregor shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Creed eats them both and turns towards McGregor to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Apollo Creed has been cut.
Creed tests McGregor's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Frankie McGregor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Creed with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Creed dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McGregor loads up on a big right hand but Creed slips the punch.
McGregor swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Creed counters with a straight right hand.
Creed closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Creed takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Creed looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Creed scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McGregor doesn't seem bothered though.

McGregor swings widly with a right hand
and Creed counters with a crisp right hand that drops McGregor! Creed lets McGregor back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
McGregor is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McGregor misses with an uppercut. Creed saw that one coming.
McGregor gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Creed gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Apollo Creed!
After the fight, Apollo Creed was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
