Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jorge Cruz Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heavy Rain!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rain throws a leg kick
and Cruz Jr counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Decent striking displayed by Rain there.
Rain throws a nice looking combination but Cruz Jr bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rain darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Rain lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rain connects with a leg kick.
Cruz Jr rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cruz Jr takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Cruz Jr misses with a lunging right hand
and Rain counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A head kick by Rain misses
and Cruz Jr counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Heavy Rain has been cut.
Rain is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rain fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cruz Jr.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cruz Jr thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rain fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cruz Jr has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Rain ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A little jabbing left from Rain on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Cruz Jr drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Cruz Jr has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Randall's Top Team in the buildup to the fight.
A head kick by Cruz Jr misses
and Rain counters with a straight right hand.
Rain's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rain duly obliges.
Rain with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Rain lands a big head kick that sends Cruz Jr to the canvas! Rain follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Heavy Rain!
In his post fight interview, Heavy Rain started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
