Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Heavy Pinto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bull Dog!

Dog rushes Pinto and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Dog lands a knee to the head.

It looks like Heavy Pinto has been cut.

Dog jumps guard and drags Pinto to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Pinto has gone for a leg lock! Dog slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pinto's guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Pinto's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Dog pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pinto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dog tries to avoid it but Pinto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dog to the ground. Dog escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heavy Pinto. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pinto will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pinto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dog's guard.

Dog can't keep his opponent in guard - Pinto advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dog tries to roll over but Pinto keeps him under control.
Pinto wants to control but Dog is keeping him busy.
Pinto is really struggling to control Dog but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Pinto looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dog is in trouble now - Pinto has advanced to mount!
Dog is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pinto wants to take his opponent's back but Dog doesn't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pinto can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dog is looking to escape.

Pinto is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dog can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dog can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pinto is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Dog has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Dog!
Pinto tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dog would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pinto controls Dog momentarily but Dog frees himself.
Dog passes into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pinto throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dog was covering up waiting for the punch and Pinto finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Pinto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dog swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pinto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dog defends well.

Dog is looking to work some ground and pound but Pinto has wrist control.
Pinto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dog has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dog must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pinto is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dog is aware though and is defending well.
Dog has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pinto is proving hard to escape from.

Pinto has his feet on Dog's thighs here. He's pushed Dog off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Dog screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Heavy Pinto was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
