PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Slapper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Leafar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slapper comes to the cage accompanied by Dr. Worm. Rafael Leafar told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slapper shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Slapper was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Slapper breaks from Leafar's wrist control and lands an elbow.

It looks like Rafael Leafar has been cut.
Leafar sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Slapper is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Slapper is looking to advance position but Leafar won't allow it.
Leafar is staying active underneath Slapper, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Leafar is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Slapper's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Slapper's back!
Slapper tries to roll but Leafar sticks to his back.

Leafar is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Slapper knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Slapper for a finish.

Leafar is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Slapper defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
You can see the frustration on Slapper's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Slapper turns into Leafar and is now in his guard.

Slapper looks up at the clock and then as Leafar takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Slapper smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Slapper is working to tighten is grip on Leafar's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Leafar has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Slapper is really squeezing tight and eventually Leafar passes out! Slapper breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
