PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Cole (ranked 797 p4p, 567 weight class) and Nig Nig (ranked 119 p4p, 85 weight class). Cole kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I Won't Back Down. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nig misses with an uppercut. Cole saw that one coming.
Cole was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Cole gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Nig throws an overhand right that lands on Cole's shoulder, as Cole tries to avoid the shot.
Cole displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nig throws out the jab.
Cole swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Cole tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Nig tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cole was well out of range. Poor timing from Nig.
Cole looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Nig tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Cole is able to avoid easily.

Cole throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nig's waist but Nig gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cole off to one side.

and Cole counters with a nice low kick that buckles Nig's knee momentarily.
Cole throws a hook but Nig avoids it easily.
The fighters circling - Cole throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Nig is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Nig is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cole.
Cole tries to counter by clinching up but Nig breaks away and moves out of range.

Nig throws a lazy right hand but Cole sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Nig must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cole is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Nig throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cole sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Nig sizes up Cole with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Nig Nig showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Cole looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Nig has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A little feinted left hand from Cole on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Cole stuns Nig with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

The crowd cheers as Nig lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cole doesn't seem phased though.

Nig throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nig sizes up Cole with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A low kick lands for Nig.
Nig swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nig Nig is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Cole on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Cole throws a jab but it's blocked by Nig.
Nig uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Some bone on bone action there as Cole checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Cole tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nig swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cole swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Nig sneaks out the side door and pushes Cole away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Cole's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Nig connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cole scrambles back to his feet.
Cole throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cole takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Nig Nig comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Nig winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Nig Nig rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
